Referrals

Richmond Clinical Assessment Service (RCAS) manages referrals from local GPs ensuring that you get the most appropriate treatment, whether that is in a hospital outpatients clinic, from a professionalwith special training relevant to your condition or from your GP

Your referral will be reviewed by an experienced docotr who will help to decide the best option for your assessment and treatment. RCAS manages your referrals and books your appointments locallyand uses a national computer system called choose and book.

When a member of staff from RCAS contacts you to book your appointment, you will be asked to confirmation of your identity. If you contact RCAS, you will need your NHS number, DOB and the name of your GP practice.

You should hear from RCAS to book an appointment within one week however if you have not heard anything in that time, please call RCAS on 020 8339 7283 between 11am and 7pm or email rcas@nhs.net and a member of the team will be happy to check the status of your referral.

If you need an interpreter to support you when RCAS calls you, please contact the Patient Advice & Liason (PALS) on 020 8973 3111 or email pals@rtpct.nhs.uk
